Port Agency and Husbandry at Manchester

Run your vessels on schedule through the Manchester Ship Canal. VertomCory covers Manchester from the Mersey office, managing port agency and husbandry for vessels transiting the 36-mile canal to reach Manchester's industrial terminals.

Canal transit, lock passage through multiple locks, and berth coordination are handled by a team that manages this complex inland waterway route regularly.

Well-Managed Ship Canal Transit and Operations at Manchester

Reduce delays from canal coordination and lock scheduling. The Mersey team manages pilotage, lock bookings at Eastham, Latchford, and Irlam, swing bridge coordination, and canal authority liaison from the Eastham entrance through to Manchester's terminal berths.

Customs clearance, cargo documentation, and port authority formalities are completed ahead of arrival so your vessel proceeds directly to the berth on arrival.

Stay on the right side of Peel Ports canal authority requirements and any terminal-specific regulations throughout the transit and port stay. Regulatory filings, safety documentation, environmental compliance, and waste notifications are handled by the Mersey team. Oil and chemical terminal calls at canal-side refineries receive dedicated cargo and safety documentation.

Keep Your Crew Looked After on the Ship Canal

Draw on specialist local support for crew and vessel needs throughout the canal transit and port stay. Stores, provisions, spares, Cash to Master, and crew changes are coordinated by the Mersey team through established Greater Manchester and Merseyside supplier contacts. Medical assistance is available when required.

Consolidate your Manchester calls through one Mersey-based coordinator managing the entire transit from estuary to berth, with 24/7 availability and regular updates on transit progress and cargo status.
